In this story, the pupils are journalists. They have been given the task of writing a news article on a topic of their choice (in the example below “Christmas story in the Middle Ages”). As in school, they have put off this assignment until the last moment. The article is due tomorrow and they haven’t written a single word yet.
Without panicking, they set to work. To speed up the process, they decide to take advantage of artificial intelligence (machine learning) and use ChatGPT to create a first draft. Once they have finalised it, they still need a suitable image to round off the article.
Fortunately, they have learnt to have this created by an artificial intelligence system and go to Microsoft Bing Image Creator. There they create a suitable image for the news article with just a few entries.
So they were able to meet the deadline after all and submit a complete news article:

In a glorious medieval cosmos of merriment and joy, Father Christmas himself arrived in a picturesque village this Christmas season to deliver an exciting surprise to a crowd of giddy children. The lively medieval Christmas celebration featured the traditional depiction of Father Christmas with his trademark red cheeks and flowing white beard, showering the children with gifts that left them in awe.
Against a backdrop of flickering candlelight and a magnificently decorated hall, the living world of yesteryear came alive in this enchanting village. As dusk fell, spirits soared as St Nicholas – as he was then known – flew over the village in his magnificent red and fur-lined robe on a magical sleigh pulled by reindeer the likes of which had never been seen before. Children and adults alike watched spellbound as the all-knowing St Nicholas announced his timely arrival with bells ringing through the cool evening air.

I volti stupiti riempivano la stanza mentre ogni giovane destinatario riceveva con gratitudine il suo dono unico e lo stringeva con una gioia indescrivibile.
La festa medievale di Natale, con canti esuberanti e danze allegre, ha raggiunto il suo culmine sotto l’occhio vigile di Babbo Natale. L’aria era elettrizzata, mentre i bambini giravano felici per la stanza, con il cuore gonfio di gratitudine per la straordinaria sorpresa che avevano ricevuto.
